Dianne has been a practicing midwife since 1983, having qualified at Queen Charlottes Hospital in London. Whilst working in the NHS she developed one of the first Midwife Practice Development posts integrating clinical issues into areas of research/ audit. She designed comprehensive in-house education programme and clinical competencies in line with Agenda For Change.
Dianne has supported student midwives, returned to practice midwives and conversion course students. She was instrumental in introducing staff nurse posts into the post natal wards to provide high calibre clinical care to mothers following LSCS.
In the past few years Dianne has been on working parties for various governmental projects, notably South East Thames Midwifery Pilot Schemes and most recently, maternity care workers NHS modernisation programme
Dianne has business planning skills which led to the development of an acupuncture service and income generation home birthing pool hire.
In 2005 this work culminated in the launch of MidwifeExpert.com allowing Dianne to pass on her considerable experience and share ideas with the wider international midwifery community.
